We (my wife & I) have both a bug out and bug in plans. Since being lied to by the military, and us parting ways, I don't trust the government. I have always believed that we are in for another civil type war or government takeover, and planned to have a place to make my stand. This plan was 20 years in the making.
For a bug out:
I have 157 acres of BOL with a mobile home and cabin on it, My retired mother lives on it now and are the day to day caretaker. It is 25 miles from the closest major city over 25K and 1 1/2 miles off the state hwy. The cabin is well stocked with food, water and guns/ammo. There is a well stocked pond for fish and plenty of wild game to hunt. I have 2000 gal. of water storage, and enough food stored to last 2 years for my entire family. This is 60 miles from my main house.
For bug in:
We live across the road from the city yard. So our road is the first one plowed in a snow storm. We can tap into the city yard backup power if needed. We keep a 6 month supply of food and water at this house. Everything important in my life is kept in waterproof/fireproof boxes that can be loaded in a matter of minutes.
If we do have to bug out to "The Farm". I have plotted over 15 ways to get to my BOL from main house. Once we are out of the city limits, I know every back road and cow path to get to my place with out being on pavement for more than a few hundred feet.
We are presently planning to buy a 710m Swiss Army truck & trailer for that trip. If the roads are out for some odd reason we can go cross country.
I guess I'm ready for anything that comes down the line.

there's a tract of land about 70 moles west of here i'd love to own. it's a full section (1 square mile...about 640 acres) for sale for $120,000. it's a bit higher than sections in other areas but it's only a few miles away from a nice little town of a couple thousand people which gives you shopping and other conveniences. the property includes two mountain peaks and a ridge, with lots of valley space as well. perfect for building a retreat home and keeping the neighbors away (not that there are any neighbors anyway).

I am at my bug out homestead, we have land, orchards, goats chickens, and a river, and I have horses. and a camping trailor, stocked and ready if need be. If need be the tracker can haul the trailer, or we can go out by horse back. and pack goats. but we plan on 3 things, 2 pickups, an a car. but will probably just take the trucks, in the back of them we will fill one with grain, the other hay ,and goats, the chickens will go into pens, and be set in the camper, along with extra propane, and lanterns, solar lights, panels, and a wood stove. I think we are about as ready as we can be, also will take all batteries. and carry gas.for traveling. also all soaps, and such that we can carry. we won't take all of our goats, just the young ones, same with chickens, the other pickup will haul horses, 2 that pull carts, and can plow, and one saddle horse.
