* Ammunition weights will vary due to type of round, powder, casing, etc.
The weight was averaged by measuring multiple types of these rounds and getting and approx average weight for general calculations.

Value of knowing weights of common items.

If your planning on bugging out, whether when the SHTF or if your retreat gets hit by over whelming force, then your going to need to common weights for items that your going to need for long term survival.

If your looking to bug out with 3 people and think it will take 10 days to get there, you would calculate the weight of just water by

Number of People X Number of Days X Gallons per Day X weight of gallon of water.

Example: Your going to calculate 3 people for 10 days using at least 1 gallon of water a day.

3 X 10 X 1 X 8.35 = or approximately 250.5 pounds in just water not counting the containers.

I suggest we all go through the items we think we will need for the bug out, or even for floor strength if your going to stock pile and weigh them and then do your calculations. If your going to keep it, store it, move it, or carry it, you need to know.
If your bugging out it does not matter if your walking, riding a horse, driving a vehicle or flying, you will need to know the carrying capacity you will need to move what you wish, or your going to have to rethink what your planning on taking. It's not a fun thing to do, but it is necessary and anyone who has had any training in logistics will tell you how very important this fundamental is.

I may try and expand the list of common weights later and hope others can help me do so too, in order to make all our lives easier in figuring this stuff out.

Hope this is helpful to people
