Christian for Israel wrote:well, i got a new job. also a couple of friends on another board donated nearly $600 to help me out. therefore i've been able to start rebuilding my food preps, which we have been living off of for months and were getting somewhat depleted. also i have earmarked my tax refund for the purchase of an M1 garand for my primary SHTF rifle.

thanks ocala and dallas. i am working as a driver/distributor for a bottled, purified water company. i was hired to take over the local plant and am the only employee here aside from a highschool kid who runs the bottler. we have an amazing filtration system that consists of reverse osmosis, an ionizer, a UV filter and a carbon filter 6"x3' in size. our water is tested by the state once a week and once it's in the bottles it's guaranteed for 5 years (though it will actually stay good much longer).

it's hard work as i usually deliver around 300 50lb bottles a day (our bottles hold 6 gallons). i also have to drive up to 100 miles from the plant on several routes. pay is good for us, around $2000 a month with another $500 in commissions. it's a small outfit but all employees and the owner are devout christians and preppers so i'm in good company. :D

Medic:
You made me chuckle. Years ago my Mrs. bought me a S&W s/s 12 gauge mag riot gun for Valentines Day.
She said it made her think of the St. Valentines Day massacre , when sawed off shotguns were made illegal.

i added another 100 lbs of flour, 100 lbs of sugar and 50 lbs each of rice and pintos to my ministorage cache this weekend. we now have 10 months supply of food in the apartment (all that will fit) and another 6 months worth in the cache. that should get us through any short term (less than a year) shortages and, if prices do come back down, we will be adding another cache with at least 6 more months worth next year.

the local grocery store had their case sale this week. among other things we added another 100# rice, 100# flour, 150# sugar, 6 cases of canned chili, 4 cases of canned beef stew, 2 cases each of canned chicken, ham and turkey, 200 rolls of TP and 12 gallons of cooking oil.

now i'm trying to figure out where to put it all.
