Handkerchief.
T-shirt sleeve.
Mid-Riff section of T-shirt.
Water (50% or more of the world's population do this...I didn't say it was conventional, pleasant or clean to Americans.)
Newsprint.
Bark (can't be any rougher than a corn cob  )

This got me thinking, What if one filled up one of the pumping pressure soakers with water. You would just have to take off your pants and spray down your ass.

should work pretty good.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

The Roman legions used a sponge on a handle and water. each person had their own sponge and they cleaned it after wards. Better then using your hand, corn cobs or pine needles I would think. :)

PS I bought hundreds of MRE toilet paper packets and sotred them in cacumn bag. Figured it would make good ttrade item at one time for the current price it cost me.
