sleeping bag

Gear used for survival
PostPosted: Tue Feb 02, 2010 3:40 pm
Who makes a good lightweight sleeping bag rated to 0 or less? I have a big bag rated to 0 but I'd like something a little lighter and smaller(the one I have is 48'' wide zipped up and is heavy but warm, good to throw in a rig but not really usable with a backpack) for a pack.
Thanks,
Jr.

Recon 3 would be my choice.
Found this while doing some research a short while back: http://aussiearmy.org/forum/index.php?topic=349.0
Some amusing comments but also a few good tips.
When in doubt, apply rule ·223 or ·308 -- unless you have a more preferred calibre.

Cheaper than dirt has the ARMY modular style for $168, they go for like $300 + or- normally. I'm looking to get 2, when finances allow.

Just called the Sportsmanguide. As I thought, the ECWS bags they are selling are NOT USGI. (They are made in China). If the real deal, at $89 for a new set that would have been a very good deal.

I have a Marmot down filled. I've been warm to -20 and usually wake up sweaty if it's warmer than about 15.
