Gee, all I've got is a dog. :-)
Actually I've got seven (all from rescue shelters). There's a dobberman that scares just about everyone. (When she barks, her jaws snap shut and it sound almost like the crack of rifle shot and she foams and slobbers at the mouth like she rabid.) The coon hound is noisy and I can hear him from the top of the drive (about a half mile) when he's got something to talk about. (Also have a lab mix and a great dane mix.)
So if they are going ballistic when I start down the drive or if they are missing, I know something is up...
But dang they eat a lot of food...

Max, compare your dog food bill to a monitored security system that you would pay monthly. And the security company would take how long to get there or to call the law. Your pooches are on the spot and ready. I'd call it cheap insurance.

.... unless you've got a dog like mine; useless bloody mutt.
When in doubt, apply rule ·223 or ·308 -- unless you have a more preferred calibre.

We've got two little yap dogs that aren't the least bit shy about anouncing out of the ordinary events or visitors.
The old one I inherited from my ex-wife. Duke is a dauchshund/pomeranian. He's 12yrs and grouchy. He loves nothing more than chewing on other furry creatures until they cease to be, regardless of said furry creatures size or temperment. I never told him he was a small dog so he takes after his namesake and does know how to back down or give up. The puppy is a Jacktzu (Jack Russel shitzu mix). 17weeks and deffinately more Jack than tzu. Sasha loves running around in the woods and helping Duke chew on the furry woodland creatures. I'd prefer to have German Shepards but we're in a townhouse and that wouldn't be fair to the dogs. |

Dogs especially mid to larger are great if they are well trained and you can continue to feed them. Additionally if things get really bad that make a fairly good meal.

I have to scotties. they are tough little dogs. I'd like to get an Irish Wolfhound too, but think he might think the scotties are snacks.
