This really pisses me off:
Cadets here are no longer allowed to carry knives until they are 16 years of age, and even then the blade must be no longer than 3".
Can't have sheath knives - only folding pocket knives, and even the 'KFS' (knife, fork and spoon) set that goes with the mess kit is now listed as an 'FS only' set. Lucky they never have steak on the menu when they go on bivs!
Here we have young people who are considered 'responsible', and thought to have some of the common sense that is missing in much of today's youth, not being trusted to demonstrate such.
Anyway, Erika, who is not yet 16, decided to stick with her old equipment list and be "unaware that there had been any changes".
Now I would call that a sensible decision.
When in doubt, apply rule ·223 or ·308 -- unless you have a more preferred calibre.
