Was wondering if anybody here has considered this item.
I have gotton some information on building my own suit.
They are expensive, for good ones, $100+.
And when the seasons change your gonna need a different pattern.

Sorry I posted in wrong thread :-(

My little brother and I made a quite successful one out of jute and burlap. First we made a jute net and sewed it onto an old coat. Then we just put loops of jute and strips of burlap onto the jute net. Spraypaint/Dye as needed. And enjoy.

Im sure pants could be done just as easy. A 2 piece ghille.

More burlap for heavy woods and more jute for open fields.

I once missed my brother hiding in a completely open field with this suit. I almost stepped on him. For the woods, the jute net and loops allow you to attach local foliage.

Burlap sacks can sometimes be found for free at businesses that use a lot of potatoes.

I found putting a large leaf on the back then spray painting a dark silhouette works well. Repeat as needed.

I've always wanted one but I just cant seem to think of anything to do with it. Although I do have friends that hunt none of them ever take me with them. Man I really want one though.
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I think I was drunk when I wrote that or something. It barely makes sense. However, I did find a good website describing exactly what I did. Although I don't know the significance of sewing the net on with dental floss?! Also, I made my own net out of the jute.

The main thing is to break up the silhouette of the body. The brain is trained to recognize that specific shape. When you don the suit it makes you look like a lump, which is quite a common shape outdoors.

Dental floss would definately be recommended, second only to a10 lb test fishing line. I'm sure you're wondering "Why floss or fishing line?" Simple. They're a stronger 'thread' than cotton, generally making it more durable. About the only thing you have to worry about the fishing line is, if it dries out it becomes brittle and snaps easy. On second thought, just stick with the waxed dental floss. (the wax keeps it from rotting/drying)

Nice! thought no one would respond to this!!
Personally I think During a SHFT, a ghille will become the most important asset available!
Why? To ensure the safety of family and provisions, Your gonna need to forage, constantly! the chances of you inadvertantly exposing your resources are great. Take every advantage to reduce exposure.
Back to construction, You can also use a military sleeping mat for padding, on elbows, knees, hips and stomach.
Need to find netting, looked no luck.

C9first, you could always wear it to fancy dress parties.

What do your friends know about you that we don't?

(You left yourself wide open for that one! )
When in doubt, apply rule ·223 or ·308 -- unless you have a more preferred calibre.

Burn! :D

Yeah, it was pretty wide open wasnt it.

I've never been hunting and they are all so used to going on their own or with their dads they forget about me. It happens. Plus, I like banjo music...
