Johhny,
I am excited to read your post on the chest fridge as I am looking to build one to store my FL provisions. The heat here is a real killer of stored food... Grin. The calculator seems to have been moved so the link is dead but your point is still valid. The amount of power we use on a regular basis is phenomenal. I looked at using solar as a backup for hurricanes until I figured out that a generator that would run what I need for a week would cost me ~ $3,000 VS solar which would cost me $45,000... Of course if I moved somewhere reasonable full time I would not have this problem but I am addicted to boating and bikinis. |

Has anyone looked into wind generators?

Look at your wind map. If you don't have constant wind at over 10 MPH you will not get as much out of the system as might like. |
