Glad to be able to contribute in a manner that can be used PRE shtf :)

I'll kinda keep an eye on this thread, so if you have any other questions, either post here so others might benefit or PM me...either way, good luck with your project!

If it is your valve covers and / or intake end seals that are leaking oil..
While fixing .....clean the screened filter located under the pcv . Pull the pcv and mounting grommet out and just inside is a 3/4" thick metal screen filter that always seems to get gummed up with oil vapors and when this happens the blowby pressure is built up in the intake valley and pops gaskets. You might have a hard time getting the filter out,but you can use a small hooked pick type tool. Once out wash out with carb cleaner ,brake cleaner , gas---- some solvent... then after dry re-install .
When re-doing the gaskets... After everything is clean and dry you can use some 3m weather strip adhesive. Put a thin film between the cover and the gasket. put the gasket on ,pull apart for a couple seconds ,then put back ...that gasket will stay in place and not shift on you... It REALLY SUCKSto have everything put together to find a gasket shifted and now it pisses more oil than before... Don't ask how I know.......
Good luck -- Hamster

I would love to paint this truck like you guys did Johnny's truck.

Feral,
Dont be to jealous of it. last owner ran this truck into the ground. read below

Fatduk,
I have seen those and like the way you think

A77ssii,
that is to funny about the Gar and carp :D

I have come to find out that I bought my self a lemon. floor pans rusted out, needs exhaust work, oil gauge and coolent gauge do not work,Red check engine is on but I think it is a bad wire on the oil sending unit,A very bad death wobble when you hit a pothole.Secondary air is missing some lines, and I think it may need new u-joints on the back axle. So I have let the 30-day tag expire and am going to learn how to get this thing highway ready before I do any thing extra on it. O why was I cursed with no mechanic skills are anybody I know. :hb: SO Feral I got a bronco for you lol. j/k I had it up for sell but change my mine to keep it and learn. but this is not what I planned for my own little small SHTF. it is minor but I have learned from this mistake

hehe but your not any way near me, so sol. :D

Johnny, As of yet no I have been collecting parts waiting for it to warm up, I have all the parts that I need so far. On a good note I did drive it on Sunday to go out to eat with the wife and found out it had no power steering fluid. So I did put some work in. I still don't trust it 100% yet but will soon.

Christian, LOL tell me about it When I did an oil change on it the oil filter is in the most dumb place it could be, and pouring in the power steering fluid forget about it. I had to use the longest funnel I had :hb:. But I do enjoy working with my hands and I did learn never to deal with a backwoods car salesman EVER AGAIN!!! but I will say maybe after she is done I will never sell, Maybe. :D
