It is my understanding that in the area i live in, 22 is the most common cartridge used in fatal shootings. However, the large factor here is that .22LR ammo and weapons are affordable even for thugs and drug addicts. Also, the victim usually does not die until hours or even days later.

If i was caught off guard and all i had close was a .22 i guess i'd pepper the heck out of the perp, and then try and pistol whip em. ha.

I have had a couple of people jumping my fence surrounding my yard and having two small children and my wife at home at night alone I have installed barbed wired around the top and about one foot inside the fence. I also have a hand cannon and shotgun placed within easy reach. Thinking about razor wire just for the family's security.
