-Any long-term UV exposure. It degrades badly.

-It has very little water repellant properties.

There's a new one on the market. "Gorilla tape" it's blacks and sticks and holds better than the regular "Duct tape".
The also make "Gorilla glue" which is great on wood......

Did ya ever get "Tarzan's Grip", which came in tubes?
Back in my school days, lots of boys had a tube of Tarzan's Grip in amongst their stuff. The going joke was that girls preferred a grip of Tarzan's tube, lol.

it does not adhere well to brick.

Don't think it will grip to brick surfaces. Try Bitchathane. Thats not how it is spelled, but thats what is called at supply companies.

Thanks for that, NQ.
Didn't think I had enough duct tape to bind the bricks for the new barbeque anyway, so I'll probably mix up some mortar.
