This makes a Sterno substitute that works about as well as the original. A 2 to 1 mix of DE (diatomaceous earth) to one part alcohol. I've also found formulas using methyl cellulose or sea (or canning) salt.

Canning salt also dehydrates isopropyl alcohol and increases the concentration from 70% to 90%.

Mix in a glass container about 8 oz 70% isopropyl and 2 oz canning salt, shake thoroughly and let stand. Drain off upper portion and this will be more concentrated alcohol.

what a lot of people would miss in the video tutorial is the covert cooking aspect .... the need to be able to cook up a meal, on the QT, is going to be crucial for preppers, in close quarters living ....

That's kind of cool!

I've got the D/E in a 25lb bag I got from ????? animal supply, locally. I sprinkle it on the hay the goats sleep in. It then gets into there fur, it then keeps down the goat cooties both large and small. It does NOT kill or interfere with fire ants. They just move over 6 inches!

Now that I know this stuff, I might play around with it some.

Lord, help me to quit worrying about,
HALF-full or HALF-empty,
and make me thankful, for the glass!
