Grim has simple solution...
Begin every conversation with the wife with "Listen, Woman..." and within a short while you'll never have to worry about your wife providing obstacles to your preparedness ever again. For additional marital, investment and spiritual advice, provided freely...PM me here at GrimOne.

My wife and I are in the same boat, that being just getting started and with little if any bushcraft skills. Fortunately she is interested in learning with me.
One idea we had was learning specialties ourselves and teaching the other. I am interested in hunting and would learn and teach her. Conversely I know first aid would hard for me to focus on learning and she is interested in it and so she would learn and teach me. As far as how it would play out I think anyones guess is as good as mine. Barring any unforeseen attack or natural disaster I think it will be a slow decline (seeing now) building to a dramatic shift where societal systems begin collapsing. How dramatic the shift is again anyones guess. I read an author once who said essentially that how difficult the transition from civ as it is now to what it will become will rely entirely on how desperately the 'powers that be' try to hold on to what they have. I think we are seeing that now with the big business elite sucking every last cent they can out of the system. But what do I know

As I was reading the last post on page one, I was thinking " What a nice and helpful topic this was " I clicked too page two and said oh no GRIM, I'm going to break from my policy of not communicating with Grim online for now just because, THAT WAS REALLY FUNNY MAN, but if he starts his crap I reserve the right too resume my old policy.
Can't see vary good, hearing is bad, computer skills suck and, my grammer and spelling are piss poor, I guess I'm just screwed.

I'm with ya Grim, I would like to start every sentence with "Listen Woman". Unfortunately I can't always make sure that my strike zones are covered.  HEHE
