If you use that Apache XAMPP install for linux you can start all services from the terminal window as sudo by typing in

/opt/lampp/lampp start

This will start all the services at once. And of coarse it all depends on where you install the app to in the first place as to the path that is designated.

Johnny, yes it is a can of worm. I think you, like me looked at it as something new, unusual and a challenge and there's no way you can be beaten so whether it's 2 hrs or 100 hrs the can has been opened and the worms are emerging.
d80, the only thing that occurred to me last night is to make sure and print our a paper copy after adding things, if we get an EMP the whole barcode inventory could be for naught unless you have a slice of tree to go off of.

Can you do a write up on it? I did the install everything separate cause i use my servers so did not even think to do it like that.

But i will have to tell you if you want to import the csv file of barcodes then you will have to change up the database a little bit i can tell you how just let me know

I will work on a set of instructions for the way that I put it together. But I will need to break mine so that I can put it back together again. I think there were 3 or 4 file/directories that I had to change ownership to my self so that it would run correctly. My main thing was that I had to learn how to use the terminal window and commands.

Yes, the report can be exported via csv to excel by going into phpMyAdmin and using the Export tab. You can also export in other forms that fit your needs.

OK got it working but will still need to finish tutorial. On the Website i have a test database if you would like to try your barcode scanner please pm me for address to it.
