You're welcome Mike.
To add the vanilla, start slowly. Add a drop at a time and mix. It shouldn't take much but it is a personal preference of taste. Keep track of how many drops you put in so that you will know for next time.

I find that the powdered eggs are good for baking. I have made scrambled eggs with it, which were edible but not all that great.

If you cook them outside over a campfire in the cold morning air after climbing out of a sleeping bag covered in dew and hunger pains are biting along with the chilly wind, they really don't taste so bad. At least they will give you enough energy to go fishing or hunting.
They can also be used to make a batter for frying fish.

It's surprising how many don't think about hand tools wulfin. Hand tools will be worth there weight in GOLD when the SHTF! Tag sales and local auction houses are GOOD sources for old hand tools, and can be had for a bargain sometimes. I've found that antique shops ask "collector prices" and therefore are out of most peoples price range. :gs:

Your right about the antiques stores. I buy a lot of old woodworking tools because I use them. In an antiques store they will priced at mint condition pricing even though they are pure junk and missing parts.

One more good source of old hand tools is junk shops.. In any town where there are a lot of antiques stores there is always a store or two that I call junk shops. They are usually not on the main street. They are usually in a barn or some such on the edge of town or near the railroad tracks. They may call themselves antiques stores, or second hand shops. If you walk in and find nice clean shiny antiques furniture and lace doilies, that's the wrong store.

If you mostly see old stuff and rust you are in the right store. The owner is probably some old guy in coveralls.

I've bought many hand planes and hand saws and such from places like this for 3 or 4 dollars, that would be $75 in the uptown shops.

Take some moist hand wipes with you. Your going to need them to clean your hands before you touch your steering wheel, and again, if you don't then you were in the wrong shop. :)

Also small town flea markets can be a good place to buy good used tools.

Harbor Freight was offering a discount megaphone. May be a good thing as a last ditch effort to discourage marauders. You loot? We shoot!

Fellow Survivalists,

I have added about a year's worth of styrofoam plates and cups to my large pre-existing supply of plastic forks, spoons, and knives. Since they need no washing, they will help save my water storage for drinking and personal hygiene. Also, they can serve as fire tinder or dead space insulation.

Oh, plus, styrofoam and paper plates and cups can be used every day if someone in the household is infirm and can't stand for long over a sink to wash dishes.
