Most of you have probably already read this but here it is anyway.
Makes a lot of sense and there is real personal experience to back up what the guy recomends.

A really good article of surviving an economic collapse.

I have read this guys posts and subscribe to his blog. For a youngish fella, he shows remarkable knowledge and by sharing his actual, true life story, he has helped a lot of people.
His story, to me, is what is most likely to happen in real life. Yes, we aren't in Argentina, but it was a civilized country, with modern amenities and it went totally belly up. Life changed for those people, and I believe that something like that might happen here. I take everything he says to heart and try to learn. His take on guns is particularly eye opening to me. I personally, don't feel comfortable with a rifle type of gun. I am a small woman, don't have much experience and don't get to a fancy "range" ever. i feel more comfortable with a pistol of some type. I can't get it through to a lot of my "menfolk" that it is important to have something that you can carry everywhere and that you feel comfortable using. If you come up with any more real life talks like his, please share them! |

There are things to learn there. I could see an economic collapse here along that lines that would easily put us into a local rural ag based economy. In fact a large part of my planning now has changed to planning to be able to supplement my food supply. With the length and thinness of supply chains in both food and general goods, I see a need to be able to supplement my food. The initial plan is via small scale farm/garden but to be able to expand to livestock like chickens, rabbits and a cow if the need arises.
