Drill holes in your boots and take you sox off. That gets the moisture flowing and prevents athletes foot in the first place.
Sealed boots, and water retaining sox create a stagnant environment for bacteria to grow in.
Like a flowing stream, if you get the moisture moving, it's good.
Moccasins are not water proof, but I have never seen anyone use them and have foot fungus issues because they do not hold water to stagnation.
