As we watched the stock market plunge deeply since the opening bell, due to " worldwide gloom" according to CNN today.. I found it remarkable that this particular date was mentioned by Carl Calleman in his research on the Mayan calender and his predicted conclusion of Oct 28th, 2011. Although Mr Calleman does NOT advocate TEOWAWKI.. he did have this to say about this particular point in time:
"The Fifth Night of the Ninth Wave starts as of August 18th of 2011 and many are wondering what this energy will carry. When we look back at history the fifth night usually appears as a very destructive time period and this naturally adds drama to the interest. Typically, the Fifth night means a ¨dark age¨ with some kind of destruction and without exception it has meant a sharp economic decline.

I read this information yesterday and was not at all surprised when I watched the news today. Even if you do not agree with his research, his article is really remarkable and I feel he is onto something with his dates. Check his website if you feel that this resonates with you.

thanks for the link. I'm not sure how much of all the things I hear about with the Myan calender thing I believe, but it's always fun to hear "predictions" coming true.

The artical is interesting, and points out the duality of things, along with destruction also could come creation. Many look at December 21 2012 as the end of the world and some cataclysm will destroy us all. But if someone looks at the history of the calender, often it meant the end of something, the calender would begin again. This could mean the end of a dark age, the end of current economic issues, or the end of us LOL.

Interestingly, I talked to a guy from Ethiopia that also discusses the bible they use and the things in it, and he mentioned that the planets will all align in 2012 and that the ehiopian bible says that during that time, mankind will become extinct.

I guess the Ethiopian guy is going to be disappointed when the planets don't all align, then. Where's he been hiding - in some 3rd world country?
