1) We can't stand children.
2) I have 0 patience with someone who can't follow simple instructions and communicate. My dogs at least take my hand in their mouth and lead me to the water bowl if I forget to fill it, not just howl or bark incessantly.

I think you would be surprised how well a child as young as 6 months old can understand you. The problem with most children is that their parents treat them like idiots. I can't stand other people's children because of how they are being parented, mine are like gold to me. Children can learn sign language before they can talk.
Another thing I did not do with my youngest is be so strict about bedtime that she had to cry herself to sleep. I couldn't stand that part of the day with my older girls.
My youngest rarely ever cried because I anticipated her needs.
My dog, on the other hand, seems to be autistic and has more needs in the long term than any of my girls.
Having a child is like planting a garden, it is having hope for the future.
