It would be hard to realistically determine what the Military would do.
When a lock down is implemented, the post controls the information that the service members have access to, lock down might include family and spouses moving onto post for the duration of the proclaimed emergency.
The Reserve and guard units, I'm thinking, will be assigned somewhere within their regions as ordered by the council of governors.
So disinformation and perception will dictate, unless those making the decisions choose to do the right thing, which seems as of late to not be likely.
Many fools will be making decisions and those who are afraid to lose will blindly follow. I personally would steer clear of any military posts.
I know that this isn't much help and mostly a vague answer to your question, but the leaders will be the key to these actions.

"I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is now controlled by its system of credit. We are no longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men." -- Woodrow Wilson 1919

it is all goinvg to depend on the nature of the event.
a commanders first priority is and will be to secure the immediate AO.
securing of supply routes will depend on resistance. no hard and fast rules on that is going to apply. but if there is widespread disturbance there will be heavy concentrations of security activity.
In the event of a game changing event to where the commander is on his own a lot of it will come down to the commanders personal preference.

and martial law.? not happening except in extremely limited areas. just not enough man power to try to install martial law over the entire country.

During the 1970's and into the 1980's IRA supporters were good at knocking off National Guard Armories. Before that, it was the '60's radicals using friends who signed up for the National Guard to avoid the draft.

Going after a National Guard Armory in the 1960's is one thing, but can you imagine the response if some folks try that stuff now?

what would be so different now? Most all armories are unguarded even when they are occupied. I'm talking about before an activation mind you. The only response would probably be local law enforcement.

Morality is the difference. We're a more moral, upright and better people then they were in the past. We'd not do such things.

Actually, alarm systems. Lots didn't have alarms.

This guy was not interested in chatting with a gate guard at Fort Leonard Wood. So he shot the place up a bit while hauling ass through the base and then went on to do more damage in two other counties.

A concerted group with good planning and execution would have an excellent chance of liberating whatever they felt was their due from most US military bases. Notice I said most as I am suspicious there are a few where these shenanigans would not be successful. On the other hand if a base were locked down I believe the challenge would be significantly greater though not imposable.

Without going into details...one time, when on Ft. Lewis, they locked down the place. I was between the Marines and Army, working on the post. I heard something, wandered over by Gray's Field and stumbled across an extremely well concealed, by the book, under bushes M60 position. They didn't have blanks in their weapon, I pretended not to see them and I smiled and moved on.

This is how we should do things on military posts.
