In my humble opinion, the ammonia content of manure is much much less than in urine.
We currently ADD Ammonia to the burners of many fuel sources that are used for power generation with the acknowledged reduction on nitrous oxide in the flue gasses. As a child we oftentimes would use cow pies for campfire fuel. I can certainly believe that massive exposure to ANY open fire smoke in a confined area cannot be good for your health. I have absolutely no worries about using manure from any source whatever as a fuel source. Bob "1984" was NOT intended to be an instruction manual!

Learn something new everyday! Being a city dweller from California, I had never heard of burning manure for heat! There was a sewage treatment plant that took sewage, dried "it", injected it with something then fired the mess to create steam for electricity.
Amazing what the human mind can come up with. Just a heads up there is and endless supply of liberals here in Cali and ya'all are welcome to 'em.... hk404me hk404me

Thank God you didn't grow up with this for a child hood. Mom dopes you up with opium when your a baby so you go to sleep and she can leave for work in the fields. Then you wake up in a stupor and crawl into the morning meals fire pit. Then your mom comes home to find you half burned so she runs out and gets a bunch of manure and coats you with it and it turns in to a  #$ cast and then takes you to a real doctor when she figures out it's not working.
