We were discussing my desire to have a weapon other than my M-16 styled bushmaster dissipater in another thread. Of course I am going to keep the bushie' for my primary weapon but have decided on getting a bolt action rifle capable of firing a full sized round and one that I can put a scope on etc. I don't want to put a scope on the bushmaster for personal reasons. Anyway, I dreamed up what a really hard hitting round might be like and thought it may be just around the corner. My mind drifted as I brought Adobe elements up and began taking artistic license dreaming about a super round that may one day be available. A fission bullet would be too scary to use in combat , however a toned down one might one day make it to the battle field, but I doubt it for its humaneness' would be much much worse than a phosphorous or hollow point. Oh for you federal goons that may be reading this RE-LAX take a home land security zombie pill, its all fiction!

I used a photograph of me shooting the 12ga mossie at my favorite range enhanced with Photo shop elements air brush clone tool and layers, and a poster filter. I hope you all enjoy my twisted artistic worlds ..its all in fun, even if its a dark humor at times....

AP 2008 ; When engaging embedded hard targets todays soldiers have a new weapon at their beck and call. Most details are highly classified but our beautiful investigative reporter teased out some facts from rev bushmaster, with only a smile and a wink.

The new 12 gauge ratFo (prounced Rat Foe) round. That's abbreviation for Rocket Assisted Tactical Fission Round. it's a lead cased Plutonium and uranium 12 gauge rocket assisted hybrid fission sabot. When the ratFo hits its target the highly unstable metals combine to produce a fission event just short of a critical mass chain reaction. In this process one one thousandths of a milligram of the top secret metal isotopes are converted into energy.

To give you an example of the kind of power that is Little Boy was the code name of the atomic bomb which was dropped on Hiroshima, only 600 milligrams of U-235 were converted into energy! (that brothers and sisters is the only bit of truth in this part of the post). Think about that for a moment! A milligram is a millionth of a kilogram.

In any case the before mentioned beautiful reporter which as I finish my fourth cup of coffee is starting to look more like my basset hound Bogie, the mega doses of caffeine starting to bring me to a rendezvous with reality, that vision encouraged me to do a rendering to demonstrate the destructive power of this round.

I did a photo shop rendering of a solider (me) engaging a hard target at 250 yards. After the round is fired in any single shot shotgun, the tiny rocket motor rocket ignites 100 meters down range and increases the velocity in a variety of ranges from 200 meters to over five miles.

The 'fall out' is controlled by nano technology engineered to give a positive charge to the 'smoke' and a positive static charge to the ground and target. A kind of electronic radio active napalm so to speak. I think it would be humane for war fare as the temps would be about 2 million degrees F. A full scale fission chain reaction would produce temps in the 100 million degree range for a few nano seconds. However any biologicals material in the effective range of the round would be vaporized.

Kind of scary stuff huh? We did develop tactical battle field nuclear howitzer rounds, but todays technology and phyics would not allow a shot gun sized fission round. This is why I would envision it just below a chain reaction hot but not so hot as a critical mass chain reaction.

Anyway its all fiction, so Dorthy click your ruby slippers together and get home why you still can...

I am going to click 'submit' even if this thing doesn't make too much sense! I hope you all' enjoy...

Yes! I guess my frustration of looking around for a heavy hitting long range round comes out in strange fashions in my fantasy art work!

I remember that title being a fan of science fiction but have forgotten the plot of it movie etc. Is that the one where a human is stranded on a planet with a reptilian alien and they forge a friendship?

No, that would be "Enemy mine"
