Ok folks, I'm kinda parcial to old style web gear. I have only one problem....

I have a 46 inch waste, where can I find a web belt to fit me?

I've looked and tried several, they all say the fit up to 50 inch, but don't.
I've got everything to go on it, just need the belt.... :-?

No, just kidding. I would use 2, maybe buckle in the back and buckle in the front. That may be easier, then you can use whatever you find in a local shop. You could overlap 2 and attach them through the holes, then it would be your custom size.

Warbird: One thing you might try is get some nylon webbing and a decent stiching awl and sew in whatever you need to fit around you.

I have always used a self made belt as the bases for my belt order kit (will try to post a pic's of it at the weekend) I managed to acquire a length of cargo strap, courtesy of a trip in an RAF plane, then stitched a rucksack buckle to it. I preferred this method to the issue belt because it gave me an easier way to adjust the belt depending on the different layers of clothes needed. The webbing cargo strap was the most popular method as most of the commercial straps available had a tendency to distort with the loads we were carrying.

I am a rather large guy myself. I took 2 belts and used extension buckles. I cut the buckles off the extensions and sewed them to the belt. This way I can release from the front, or the back. The extensions are available here at the local surplus store. You may just get a couple of those too. I am getting some for my alice pack. I finally got everything else, but the belly strap is still a bit too short. I guess they don't make them for big guys.

What's everything??

Are we talking old school here??

Or newer school:

IIRC, I got a black tool belt at Walmart that had plastic buckle on it and it was just the right width for alice clips.

My wife asked me why my cartridge belt didn't meet in back like Steve McQueen's did in one of his WWII movies. I told her his was a movie prop made to fit like that.

I have a couple of these belts out-fitted with different stuff.
Gotta tell you that they are a real PITA to adjust, about the time I get done screwing around with them, the weather changes and it back to adjusting them.
Old school is cool, but is a real female dog to use IMHO.

Been making my own, webing can be had at any craft store, as well as buckles and stuff.

I use imitation sinew left over from my buckskinner crafting days.
Looks like sinew, but has nylon threads in it so you can't hardly break it, and can be peeled apart if a thinner thread is needed.

I've even sewed up tie down straps with it and it's stronger than the web.
Carry it in my BOB.
My basic tool rules:
Deploy your assets, if you spread them out no one know how many you really have............................
Redundant calibers are just another asset...........
Have passed, "need", along time ago.........
Invest in airplanes and firearms, never women or cars.......
Precious metals..........Brass and lead......
The more you know, the less you have to carry.......

I still don't see what you've got???
And I never figured out if you meant 1910 hooks or alice clips.

Check the online surplus stores for one of the newer, khaki pistol belts. They will fit up to a 54" waist because they were designed to fit over vests and gear.
