Select only dehydrated foods that can be prepared by adding hot water.

Medical supplies you may need including water purification tablets, toilet tissue, band aids, and travel-size hygiene supplies.

I tried this , and it is do-able, for about the same money.
You actually end up with about double, as the packing contain more than is listed.
So, I ended up with 2 bags, (food in ziploc), one for the truck (BOV) and one in the basement, for about $30 bucks.
This was a good posting for someone that is just starting out and need a place to start.
My basic tool rules:
Deploy your assets, if you spread them out no one know how many you really have............................
Redundant calibers are just another asset...........
Have passed, "need", along time ago.........
Invest in airplanes and firearms, never women or cars.......
Precious metals..........Brass and lead......
The more you know, the less you have to carry.......

Lots of food. Only down side don't get me wrong is Rule of 3s. # minutes without air, Three hours without shelter, 3 days without water,3 weeks without food. Water purification is great but always better to have some on hand. If in your car shelter is covered. Average survival situtation lasts 3 days.
