No time or energy for PT

Physical fitness is generally achieved through exercise, correct nutrition and enough rest.

My exercise routine is as follows:

Monday-Friday: hike a variable distance (seldom more than 1/2 mile) carrying a 50 lb pack, 25 lb chainsaw, followed by 7-ish hours of cutting trees. A few sprints, on the more dangerous trees. Some days I have to tie off with a rope and harness and climb down to the edge of highwalls and cut where it's too steep to safely stand. The pack's weight is mostly drinking water for a crew of 3, so it's much lighter on the way out. If I don't have the pack, I have 15 lb gas/oil jug in the other hand.

Saturday and Sunday: if I'm lucky, I swing a fishing pole for as long as i feel like, while curling about 12 oz with the other hand ;)
I'll keep my Freedom, Guns and my Constitution, you keep the change.

PM, be very careful you don't blow your knees out with that much weight on your feet. You may think its good for the muscles but its heck on the joints.

I do those 12 ounce curls.

Too hot anyway. This week, it was 104 one day, 105 one day, and at least 99 the rest of the week.
And that is the midwest, not Arizona...

PM,
Ankle weights if you are doing stationary exercises only and be careful. They were not made with the intent of running/walking in them. Plus slow progression on increasing, start low and build up slowly.
Undo stress on joints, ankles, think of sprains, strains, torn ligaments, knees, you really don't want to go into what you can do damage wise to them, front and back.
Otherwise what I read isn't bad.

Well, on average with pack weight, we'd have about 60-80 LBS in our packs, plus whatever on our web gear and our weapon. Sure, it wears you out, but if training for such weight, 50-60 LBS won't be squat to toss on and walk with if I needed to walk out of town or something. Just my thought on it.
