In Cuba TSHTF has lasted for the past 45 years.....is so bad that to find a straight nail on the ground is like finding a dollar bill here in the states and where to have a bottle of aspirin would make you a doctor..

While on vacation in Cuba many times did I see the skin of a cat laying by the sidewalk.

What happened in Cuba transcurred over a period of years so that it gave them time to get used to the idea but here in the states it will happen in a matter of months if now weeks.

Only 3/10 of 1% are ready for what is to come so that those of us who are ready will have a hard long battle ahead in order to protect that which is ours......... I am , are you ?

Don't think with your weapon but with your head.

Yes, it can happen quickly. However any hostile takeover or invasion around here will leave a lot of dead hillbillys and invaders scattered about.

I'm not ready yet, but if the world could end when I'm 35 I'm sure I'll have enough stuff by then :D.
In all seriousness, I'm not, but with my water storage building up, and some rice and tins of kidney beans... Well, who knows. :-)

For all the complaining about rising prices we still have it pretty good. One hundred bucks buys a lot of dried rice and beans and even seasoning. It doesn't take much to store these commodities either. Just a thought.....

Very true Rev....... I for one have 950 lbs of rice with 500 lbs of beans on top of a lot of other goodies like flour, sugar, salt and so on........

At this time people are paying three to five times what I paid for what I have in stock.

So Ponce you are invested in the commodities market heh? Its an investment already paying off as well! I would much rather be invested the way you are rather than be invested like a wall street fat cat !

When I hear of the commitment that some of you all have made I realize that its time for me to get busy. I have the bare necessities for my basset hound and myself. I am care taking my mother who has cancer and this makes planning for future events more problematic.

First of all I am very sorry to hear about your mom........

And yes, I invested in commodities like food and silver and they are both paying very well at this time.

As you might have read elsewhere my cost per gallon of gas is of 0.91 cents but that's only because I am pying with silver rounds.

I have a whole wall of toilet paper (insulation? hahahha ) that I paid $9.50 per case of 36 rolls, at this time they are over $25.00 for the same case.

Tuna, Chicken of the Sea, I was paying $6.60 for 16 cans that now cost about $14.00........it was so sheap that I was feeding it to my cats, no more, they can now eat CAT FOOD.

Mountain House......... for my first load of one year of food I paid $1,200 and $2,100 the second time........ I was told that it is now over $5,000, if you can get it because Uncle Sugar are buying it all.

Have food and all that I might need for six years and water for free from a creek by gravity......... it took me only eight years to get ready and I am still getting ready.

"To be ready is not"... Ponce

Thanks Mom is actually a miracle so I thank God. She was diagnosed as terminal and inoperable due to her COPD and other complications. The MD's gave her a 6 mos to a year to live. That was two and a half years ago! She has no pain and is generally asymptomatic , and highly religious. So I thank God.

I just heard on the news that the price of rice and flour has went crazy due to panic buying, this time 'they' tell us there is no real shortage ! Hell no their 'aint' unless you happen to live where 10 dollars is a days wages and a pound of rice is a large fraction of your daily wages ! What happens with the third world countries will happen here sooner or later. I live in Appalachia and own and operate a Christian non profit Humanitarian mission and church. (the church is a paper tiger entity to assist the Christian mission). When I see people struggling here to make ends meet the same thing happens to the rest of the country 2-5 years later. People are struggling here now. So U congratulate you for being prepared because it eases the burdens on others when you can take care of yourself if bad times really hit!

As I said I am attempting to be able to get off the Grid and become more self sufficient. I was really worried a short while back and got ready in a military manner before I did in food storage etc. I do something every day to become more prepared, because the news and other warning indications are increasing .
