This one gets covered the same as, "...where do babies come from?" The answer is age driven.

My 13 and 14 year old grandsons are told the truth, with all the ugly bells and whistles. The younger kids get 'The ant and the grasshopper' version. We tell them we store up IN CASE there is a storm, or too much snow to get to the store, etc, etc, etc. We are also teaching the older kids HOW to shoot the real guns. The short kids get bb guns. But they all get the correct gun handling training supervised by the adults.

Honestly, I know some 14 year old kids that wouldn't get it, my 7 year old grandson would probably understand it all. But I'm a little biased in his direction, because he's the smartest one of the 5 grandsons. My soon to be 21 year old niece thinks it's all just BS and that world will go right on as it has.

She's one of the people the zombies will eat first.

Yes HP, by 3:00p.m I'm so wore out from all that fighting, I have to take a little nap.

If there's a total break down,I'm afraid my 22yo son will have to be put down.
He has this idea that He doesnt need to prepare,He'll just go take what ever He wants.

I thought Monday night,I was going to have to put an end to his sorry ass.He came over drunk,thought he was going to bully everybody,and wouldnt leave after being asked to leave nicely multiple times.(He's been pulling this $#!T while I've been gone on the road)
This makes the third time He's made the mistake of bowing up to my face,and try to push me around in my house.
Let's just say the combat he started,ended up with him lifted over my head,and tossed off my 3'raised deck/porch a good ten feet to the concrete,and this was after some wrestling,and duking it out.
I can no longer pull punches with him,or anyone else,being as I cant make a fist with one hand after the table saw ruined it.
Damn it!I'm getting to old,and broken to to be tossing it up with a young buck like that,especially with essentially one hand tied behind my back.

I have a nephew like that. He is the product of a pitiful excuse for a mother and father(my sister and her ex)..By the time he was 20 he had 3 restraining order against him from different girls. His son's mother finally came to her senses about him and is in the process of getting restraining order #4..He and his "friends" ride the backroads all night long. I suspect that after the shtf he and his friends will not last long..either by the hands of family or someone they underestimate

Don't give up all hope for them, maybe they will see some real blood and guts, and have a change of hart, that does tend to wake some up.
