I randomly wonder about joining a militia, then i watch any number of war stories and see how the "army" absorbs militia's, only to use them for sh*t work. I agree with the militia bein up front and above board. On the same note, if the enemy doesn't know where you are its harder for them to kill you.

Off and on, I've considered joining a Militia. I don't do so because I don't want to invite trouble, stopping me from doing what may need to be doing when the time comes, before I even start. Currently the government, in ANY administration, is against militia of any sort. And with me being labeled a terrorist by DHS by virtue of having served in the military and having been deployed to Iraq (wonderful isn't it) I don't want to "Confirm" for them that I am anything other than an old soldier. And believe me, they are keeping track of us all. In the end, it probably won't matter. They'll round me up anyhow, shove me in a hole someplace, and rape my wife and turn my kids into good socialist slaves.

For that reason, I figure, if the time comes and is needed, I could drum up and train enough folks to do the job. No need to concern myself with being "Infiltrated" because, in all honestly, if you are for the Constitution these days, you're a terrorist and an enemy of the state. Yup, it's BS and wrong. We shouldn't have to put up with that. But it's reality, and I see no reason for everyone to be like other militia groups and be taken down long before their time to "come alive" has come. But, that's just me.

On the other hand, I also tend to not trust the milita here abouts. Never know if they have some crazy religious view, or some cultish ideation ala David Koresh, where by virtue of my joining them, my wife and kids "belong to them" and my wife is now community "or leaderships" property to do as they wish. I know by and large this isn't the case, but these do exist, unfortunately.

I agree totally with everyone. Sometimes I think some of these milita groups also say they are willing to help the gov only to hide there there true intentions. I would never join one personally, how ever I would love to join a preppers group locally here in Texas. Would be nice to me like minded people that are all around honest Americans with no serious agendas other than trying to survive and protect there family and rights.

In my opinion, the best thing militias have going for them is that most are all but unknown. i gaurantee that if your militia is family and close friends, with no contact with other branches, you are pretty safe from infiltrators.
