SHTFM's "mascot"

#### READ THE RULES ####

PostPosted: Tue Mar 29, 2011 9:55 pm
I joined the forum a week or so ago and didn't notice the "mascot"...the "Don't Tread on Me" snake. I recently bought a 4x4 for a BOV, a '97 F-15 (definitely not my first choice for various reasons, but I had the money, the price was right, and it should work out, unless an EMP took place).

Anyway, most people in my area have for their front vehicle plates "Alabama" or "Auburn" tags. I could care less about that, but I wanted something. My wife surprised me with the perfect one...yep, a DTOM plate, snake and all. It was perfect! Plus, it represents several things. One, of course, is the history of the DTOM flag. Secondly, she knew the reason I even got the truck, and thought it was appropriate. But, most of all, and this my wife took into the most consideration, it was the nose art my dad had on his P-47 Thunderbolt in WWII.

I love it.

If I had thought about it sooner, I'd have taken a picture and shown it here (if that's allowed).

Just thought I'd share.

That's cool, tsolive.
I have DTOM stickers on plates mounted alongside my front and rear number plates, (plus a SHTFM "Are You Prepared" sticker on the rear).
I also mount the flag version on the truck I drive at work, and have a subdued version patch on my BDUs.
I too should take a photo and post it here. I'll try to remember to do it tomorrow morning.
When in doubt, apply rule ·223 or ·308 -- unless you have a more preferred calibre.

I believe I'll be getting a DTOM sticker sometime soon. Seems alot of folks around here, amazingly, have these. And I saw one guy with a great big one in the back window of his truck. What surprises me about it most is, nearly everyone in the area I live in is a flaming lib. So it sparks my interest when I see folks with these on their truck.

Not to cause a thread drift here, but I would be interested in what the extra antennas are, as one ham
to another, (presumably).
I need to put up some HF antennas before winter here,
I am most interested in the Gap Titan and the Butternut Verticals.
Any one have any input?
