Looks interesting. I got some of the same reactions when I told my family about my preps with food ammo water the books I've been buying like canning S.A.S survival, wild edibal plants. So now I just hide my food storage from them so they don't see it when they come over. They would freak out if the ever started pulling out boxes from under the bed in the guest rooms and looking in bags in the closets. Some stuff I can store in the attic like TP pencils note books. Things that don't react to heat and cold. I have them hidden as well in rubbermaid tubs I built a fake wall about a 5x5 behind my ac unit in the attic. If u live in Texas that's where Tjey go no basements here. Things that need cool dry dark spots are in closets in boxes and bags. I feel like a freak at times because I feel the need to hide all this so they don't think I'm nuts. They know Im into this kind of lifestyle but not how deep I'm prepared. Only my gf knows the extent of my preps and where everything is and how to get to it.

I know what you mean TXtreeman.
I don't say any thing to any one because they will think I am just a little more than crazy.
I have tried to talk with my wife and introduce prepping to her slowly. She just doesn't want any thing to do with it. I was getting some extra cans of food and she started complaining about it.
So what I do I do in secret.
So you are not alone TXtreeman. It is good that you trust your girlfriend and she excepts you.

When the SHTF, I will be making some decisions that would very well impact others lives to a point that it will determine if they live or die. If I share they live, I don't they die.
the decisions I make will be made with the help of God. If things get as bad as I think they will, many will suffer greatly.

I will just keep doing what I can, while I can, as many of us here are doing now. It is good to know I am not alone and that us preppers are scatered through out the US and other places.

I'm some what fortunate that my family is fully behind my preps, but then we have always kept at least 6 months or more of food in the pantry and the freezers, my mom and step dad has seen hard times growing up and never let that lesson be lost on the rest of us. Course now when I started talking about a underground shelter, that got some raised eyebrows, so I decide to fix a shelter in the basement instead. shrug some things are a harder sell than others. :D

made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I pay attention to that, even when I don't know what it means.

Wow. I will have to keep an eye out for this movie when it comes out. Maybe I can even get the family to go to it.
Since most of my imediate family thinks I am a little crazy (my husband just humors me with the 1 year food storage) I just do what I can. It would be so much easier if all of my family was on board with prepping. I feel fairly comfortable with our food stores and my medical supplies are coming along nicely, but the bullets are the one area that I am lacking in :hb: . That is where I was closer to my family up in Idaho where they all hunt and fish on a weekly basis. Nothing beats the hands on advice that I can get from them on weapons (between my Dad, Step-Dad and brother they have almost any weapon that I might want to try and shoot). At least I am able to give them advice on food storage.

Has anyone seen this movie yet? I started looking for it when it came out over a month ago and the only place it is playing is in the LA area and at only four theaters, the same ones it's been at since coming out. Seems if it is a Cannes winner it would hit the streets. Some good reviews on yahoo though.
