Oversite by Congress? Are you kidding? When Mr. Brenake (Fed Chairman) was akse a specific question on live TV by Senator Sandors as to who the Fed gave "our" tax money to he said no he would not answer the quetion. End of story Congress had and has no authority to force him or the Fed to answer.

Oversite? What oversite the Fed has sole oversite of itself. While the Fed has to report to Congress they are not "required" to tell Congress or the American people anything about what they do, how they do it or with whom they are dealing with.

absolutely Congress is SUPPOSED to have oversight, but has none, NONE whatsoever! Bernanke has made it clear to congress (see video above), this is why Ron Pauls bill was so popular. Unfortunetely, it was rendered useless. We have let the Fox guard the hen house here.

Tiger is 100% right on the fed. Herb, love you madly but: in 2009 140 banks were closed and were taken over by larger banks. So far this year 103 have fallen. That puts us on route to as many as 200 bank failures this year! Yep, Mr. Potter can't shut the s & l down just yet, but it's coming to a bank near you! I put just as much as I need into the account to pay the bills, the rest is cash in case the bank goes belly up! Depression? You betcha! All we need are bread line, uh, wait, we already do have them! 43 million are on food stamps! No one's living on the streets without money, uh, wait. we have record numbers on welfare, sorry, 'long-term unemployment' and living in 'public housing.'

Stillthink we're not in a depression? When the dow goes up on bogus info concerning the housing industry and reality is that there are over a million forclosed homes in thenation? "congress pulls the strings"? No disrespect sir but what are you smoking or taking? Congress is too full of themselves to be in charge of anything with very few exceptions most are political hacks, liers and theives.

If you did due diligence, you would find, that I am correct. Whether they do a good job or not, is not debatable, they don't, but they do over see and call the shots, if you cared to check and see. Yet, as always you seem fast to ridicule, put out disinformation or put out things which can not be followed up on, or are coming out as bogus. Why is that?

I had hoped with your supposed background, you would be a leader and one who puts out factual information people can have faith in. I have yet to see anything that makes me take what you say as having any validity. You fail the test of a reliable and knowledgeable source. That's not only my personal opinion, but one which has been proven when you passed on false information and when called on it, said it was too much to ask for you to validate said information.

Honestly, this is a really relaxed and friendly forum here. Everyone welcomed you and was prepared to learn and listen and share with you. What is your problem? Are you afraid we might all take someone's word as gospel? WE aren't that stupid. Most of us spend a significant amount of time researching what we are told in this (and other forums). We are all big boys and girls and can come to our own conclusions, using cross referncing ad solid research. We didn't come to the conclusions we have by just listening to Alex Jones or Glenn Beck, we came to these conclusions by learning and reading and with lots of common sense. Most of us are ordinary folks, disturbed about our country's direction and the lies and propoganda. We aren't out to form a rebelion, we are out to learn how to take care of ourselves. That also means learning about what is going on in the world, which we do using a wide variety of means. If we choose not to believe in one theory over another, it isn't a personal thing, it's a choice made by our own learning. Why do you make it personal?

Your right it was a personal attack, and I apologize to the other people on the board for losing my temper, but not for returning tigerpaw's snide silly and personal attack.
People should always question information and check to see if there are facts supporting it, prior to putting it out for all to see. Saying I was on drugs and not supporting his accusation where I was incorrect with any facts, was nothing put a personal attack. If he can dish it out, he can learn to take it as well. He is supposed to be a hard charger, a man, and was by his words an officer. So far I have seen little which leads me to believe that.
Your also correct personal attacks are not what the board is about, as an older player on the board, Tigerpaws should know this better then others. As an ex-officer in the military, he should be aware of his words and his facts should be in order and he should hold onto his integrity by checking his information. That's a ground rule not only for officers, but NCOs as well. DO NOT PASS ALONG garbage to either your superiors, peers or your subordinates.
I ask nothing of others that I don't expect of myself. If I have high standards for tigerpaws, it's because he put himself out there as an officer in the US Military with 33 years of experience. I feel I have a right to expect a lot from him when it comes to passing along information.
If that is mean, so be it. There is an old saying A Ranger never lies to another Ranger. In matters where it counts, preppers should be held to that standard as well. Not just Rangers, but ex-military are expected to be honest with each other and pass along timely, factually correct and significant information. Officers are expected to be both officers and gentlemen. They are expected to have integrity, honor and loyalty. If he is going to claim the title, I am asking him to act like it as well. He has a responsibility as do all of us.
