The food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps ever. Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals" because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves.

Thanks Slobbertoof but, this go round im using them as breeders. I plan on moving them to the flight pan this weekend and since they started "bob whiteing" last week, they are starting tp pair up. They will begin laying come spring. Im going to put my biggest males with 3 females per breeding cage. Ill eat some of the eggs but most will go back into the incubators. I have 4 hav-o-bators that hold 144 eggs each. The ones in a incubator now should start hatching around middle of next month. The thing about quail hatching in the small incubators is, after 40 or 50 have hatched and I leave them in a day or so to dry, when you take the top off its like popcorn. litterally, like popcorn. they go everywhere. The chicks can fly, (not so well, but enough to get up go), at around 4 days of age. I put my incubators in a big box then catch each one and dip their beak in the waterer and after that, they drink on their own. Main thing is, after taking off the top, I have to get humidity back up to 85% to 90%, (Best way is with a damp warm towel), to keep the ones still coming out of shell from sticking and get temp back to around 99.9 degrees..
