Both of mine are different companies and have the same lock A Commercial grade Type 1 Electronic lock . Also one safe is covered against fire or burglary damage for life The other is covered against flood / burglary / fire. for life They Still Didn't Answer my question about EMP Damage.

AND ---- If there is an EMP event, you think for even one second that the technician will be there to open your safe for you? In an emergency when you need your gun(s) or any other critical supplies? Within a reasonable length of time when many (most?) vehicles will be disabled?

I am so sorry to be so negative, but that is one of the silliest cures for a problem that I can possible imagine!

Build a small faraday cage to go over the Keypad you could put a magnetic strip on the cage to hold it on the safe to make it easy to put on and take off. Just A suggestion I Have never Experienced a EMP .

I Know the safe companies want be there if something like a EMP Happened So I Keep a Cutting torch just in case The reason I Have use safes is to keep from having my stuff stolen . I Will look into building a Small Faraday cage for the key pad.

I also buy safes with mechanical locks mainly because I don't know for certain that an electronic lock would still work after an EMP situation.
