I like the idea of combining a few extra items to the knife sheath; also strapping one to the underside of the truck.
Placed in doubled HD freezer ziplocs, it would be well protected against weather, out of sight and readily accessed, for the most part.
Two would be better, in case that one end or side of the vehicle is destroyed or collapsed and inaccessible.
Which reminds me....I'm bolting an ammo box under my rig, with a slightly smaller BOB kit in it. Should protect it well.

Some good ideas there...you could post pics of your ammo can project, write a little DIY. I'm sure it's very straightforward, but for those who are less mechanically inclined it could be helpful. BTW, I would probably lay the rustoleum to that thing, especially if you run in areas that get snow. If you need ideas for the contents of your can, check out this thread: bob-bug-out-bags/topic311.html. I've built one, it's a little more expensive than that but it would be pretty good in an ammo can too. I'll keep my Freedom, Guns and my Constitution, you keep the change.
Blind faith in ignorant leaders is NOT Patriotism. 1918 In the Wasatch National Forest of Utah, 504 sheep were killed by a single bolt of lightning. Sheep huddle in storms and the lightning bolt passed from one animal to another. |
