Lets discuss things in your home you can use for a BOB say you live in the city and never in your life been camping. What are some items you can use to through together a BOB. i will start remember all things need to serve more than one function try to have stuff that has many functions as possible.
1.If you don't have a back pack a sheet will do just fine or A blanket that you would need anyway or a tarp if you have one.
2.as far as a knife look through your kitchen plenty there a pairing knife and butcher knife will do just fine.
3.Small skillet
4. The almighty spoon very multi purpose
5. Water bottle/coke bottle these are great water containers they weigh nothing and hell to bust.
6. Gallon freezer bags used for all kinds of things
7. shoe strings
8. Trash bags

I have alot of other stuff to put but would like everyone elses input also. For beginners if you are like this and have just found our site as soon as you finish reading this go put one together because anything can happen at anytime. You need to be prepared as quickly as possible. remember rule of 3s 3 minutes without air, 3 hours without shelter, 3 days without water, 3 weeks without food and you dead. PRIORITIES

I suggest they put in some damp proof or water proof matches and some magnesium filings for fire satrting. They can also put dryer lint into a zip lock bag to assist in starting fires.
