I carry an EDC bag with some things that I think I would need in an emergency either to get back to my car where I keep my "get home bag" and rifle, or if my truck was gone as well I could still make it for a day or two. I could certainly do with much less, but keeping morale up is important. In my truck I keep a backpack with clothes, mess kit, more food, filtration bottle, large knife, AK47, mags/ammo, IFAK.

So here are some photos of what I have on me at all times, and the list. Maybe this will give you an idea of what you would want to have on you in the event that an emergency arises while you are away from your gear, and alone outside your safe zone.

Maxpedition FDE Fatboy EDC bag
Glock 17 with night sights
3 spare magazines loaded with 147gr SXT HP
Push dagger
Rex Applegate/W.E. Fairbairn folding fighting knife
Keys for facility at work
Car and house keys
Federal ID's and Access cards for .gov facility
Pair of earbuds with Mic for hands free Cell use
Streamlight TLR-1 weapon light
Princeton-tec red/white led headlamp
Book, Ayn Rand just incase I have to wait it out somewhere. Mindset in a survival situation is key.
2 Granola bars
Pen
Encrypted Government flash drive
16g personal flash drive
160g Ipod/Bose earbuds for morale boost/mindset
Federal phone/2way
Surefire G2X pro flashlight
Surefire ear protection
Spare lithium batteries for Surefire/Streamlight and headlamp
Cell charger
Change for Phone
Chap stick
Spare Truck key. I only keep the Valet key on my key ring since I lock my ammo and other things in the glove box. Police need a warrant for locked glove box.
Citizen Skyhawk solar/Atomic watch
Combat Gauze, hemostatic bandage
Breath spray
Band-aids
Water purification tabs
Chem lights, red and green. They have very short wave lengths so as not to be seen by strangers.
Medical tape trans-pore
Digital recorder
Pocket knife sharpener
Torch/lighter
Paracord bracelet
Rat-3 knife
1TB hard drive
SOG multi tool
2 gatorade powder packs
Cleaning cloth for electronics
Firesteel
Char-cloth
100 rounds ammo, 50 124gr +p FMJ, 50 147gr SXT HP
Droid Bionic cell phone
Dental floss
200.00 cash
Alcohol pads

Tactical Man Purse LOL. Just kidding. I was considering getting something like this myself, sometimes my assault pack is unnecessary. In that assault pack I don't just carry stuff for just in case, I also carry books, layers of clothes, change of sox, things I need for work.

The real reason I went with this is the pouch for the weapon is behind all the others, sort of hidden. But when I go for the weapon, because of the way the bag hangs it is just like reaching for my holster. In a pack, which I used to use, you know that going for your weapon is a-lot more obvious, and there are several excessive waste movements to get your weapon into action. Just my two one hundredths of a dollar.

Oh yeah, it is. Like I said, I had been considering getting one of those, looks like it holds a lot, and like I said, there are times when wearing a pack just isn't practical or desired.

I tend to wear jackets with lots of pcokets and carry stuff, keeps what i feel i ned on me and allows me also to have the holster built into the vest or the jacket and easy reach.

Jack, I thought about doing that (showing a list) and then decided maybe not the best idea. I do carry enough to keep me going for a bit and usually several reloads for whatever I am carrying at time, plus survival gear, but exactly what I think I will keep to myself.
Being a small framed guy (though I am about 180 lps) I tend to wear losse clothing and look a little sloppy on purpose as it's the only way to really help hide what I carry. It also blends in most places down here I go in the more rural areas.
I have several pieces of 511 tactical clothing, which I have come to love as time goes buy, evena short sleeved tuck in shirt which is a great carry shirt (I like it for small frame handguns) since here in summer a coat is a dead gve away and can make you miserable unless riding your motorcycle.
I also have several belts with built in zippered money holders, belt pouches, and as Hummingbird calls it my nerd bag that i hang off my hip a lot. A cop will know i am carrying, a observat person who has trianed themselevs or been trianed will know, but joe blow doesn't. Amazing the times I have sat or stood near soemone talking about the evil gun things (usually a transplanted yankee or Californian down here) and been carrying at least one gun.
Dressing up tedns to make it a bit more interesting, but I can wear a three piece suit and carry things as well, but it is much harder and I can't carry the number of reloads and supplies I like to have on me wihtout looking like a POS, which if wearing a suit I don't want.
