Bags, Belts, guns to go

Talk about your survival kit, packs, bag or how to make one.

myself and my two children have divided our BOB into three different sets; we have our to go bags (BOB's), then we have our to belts (these are the military pistol belts), and then we have our guns to go sets.

our BOB's are pretty similar to everyone else' I am sure, maybe a little heavier on the medical and provision end of things than some people would like, but probably close to average in composition. everything we need to survive whatever may come, and we are pretty confident on that.

Then we have our standard issue military pistol belt, each one has two canteens, a holstered pistol with mags, an extra pouch or two for ammo, compass, what ever we need, and a good knife in a sheath, our is an AKM1, because we can use them on our AK as well.

We also have our weapons set up the same way, this is very carefully designed for weight and ability I have to because one of my children is a 12 year old girl, needs lighter loads than me or her brother. We have these divided up into what weapon we are the best with and happiest carrying the most (long weapon that is) these setups are also including the amount of ammo that person can carry based on their size and ability.

thankfully we have spent a few summers practicing hiking with different loads, how much ammo is too much at a time and so on so we have it worked out pretty good.

what ever we can't haul, the good old truck, if we can use it will carry, plus we have stashes already that we can get to that are away from home and setup for us in case of the SHTF or what ever may happen to drive us out of our town and home.

we just weren't happy with just a bag and it never would hold enough to satisfy me. my son and I also wear a harness with ten ammo pouches that sits above the belt (holds 200 7.62x39 rounds) just for more...

many thanks Lighthorse, they are the reason I'm doing what I'm doing. taking care of me would be a snap. Years of traveling through the wilds of America trapping and hunting, and serving with pride and honor in the USMC 69-75, and one of those years in hell, lol so to speak, has made it easy for me to take care of myself even at my age (not old yet). But, divorced and with two great kids to take care of and teach, it has been a long one getting them ready for what may or may not come and teaching them not to be a sheep and barely believe what they see and nothing that they hear. But we are ready, and these forums are the best thing that has happened to the INET, it gives hope to a lot of people that don;t know which way to turn or how to get started. My kids read the forums also when they want to learn something new, a new kind of shelter, a new way to pack your gear, a better kind of gear, and we are some of those shoe string people, getting by with little but we are betting by. I love the support of the prepper, survival forums because you are the people that get IT!

Again, my many heart felt thanks to everyone on this site!!! and I will post my pics as soon as I can...
Mike

I got a rough picture of one belt-to-go, I am going to see if I can actually upload the pic to the message; if it works for me, then I will post some good pics in the BOB forum for everyone to comment and criticize... I am all about constructive criticism... so bring it on when I do post pics of me and my children's stuff, help is always welcome and wanted. so this is just a test for me...

not to bad except for crappy photo quality, my fault... still left canteen is also a cooker and cup combo, pouch with 70 rnds pistol ammo and 40 rounds rifle ammo, compass and 30 rounds of 38 S&W for our pocket guns, then a canteen and our main side arm a Tokarev

thanks for your patients on this test for me, now I know how to do it... I wil post some camera quality photos.
