  • Recycle And Re-use
Recycle means to process old, used items in order that the material can be used to make new products. Examples of things that are often recycled are glass, plastic, newspapers, aluminum cans, used motor oil, and batteries. Here, reduce refers to lessening the amount of items or resources that are consumed, using only the amount that is needed, and looking for alternatives that will lessen our use. And reuse means extending the 'life' or repurposing an item rather than discarding or throwing it away.

The road to prepared never ends by Anonymous on Thu Aug 19, 2010 5:50 pm
My road to preparedness began with an eye opening experience I was 19 right out of highschool dumb as a box of rocks. I was on my way to work and listening to the radio when a breaking alert came over saying that one of the twin towers had been hit by a plane. On to work I went thinking some dumby not watching what they were doing done ran into one of the tallest buildings in the world. Upon my arrival at work they were all standing in front of the tv and the coverage of what was going on made me feel like I may not have woke up yet and was dreaming but I wasn't! I don't want to talk anymore about that but lets just say that was the jump I needed to start the engine.

Now a little about me. I grew up in a very small town in the hills of TN all activities consisted of being outside. I was fortunate to come up that way that puts me a little ahead of the curve. Hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, hiking, gardening, and raising livestock is just the way of life around here. Moving along...

Tip's,Trick's,and Trash Talk from a Redneck Trucker. by goinpostal on Sun Dec 11, 2011 1:54 am
Trucker's often find themselves without access to bathroom facilities.
Well here are some tips for making your own facilities to use in confined spaces that are fairly sanitary, inexpensive, and dont stink to high heaven like a standard port-a-potty.
I'll start with those that stand up to pee.
For multiple use before emptying any big jug that can be resealed will work, but after a few uses when the cap is cracked. The stench released from bottle can become over powering.
Well here's a trick I learned from using empty motor oil jugs.
The oil residue in the jug will float on top of the urine, and prevent it from outgassing so no sinky smell.
I've experimented a bit and found that pretty much any cooking oil will work in the same manner. So with any gallon jug you just add a 1/4cup of veggie oil and it's ready to use.
It can also be dumped in any toilet,RV dump,or even in the bushes somewhere, without undue damage to the environment.
Then the jug can either be rinsed and set up for reuse,or tossed...

How does it all begin. by Anonymous on Mon Dec 06, 2010 11:28 pm
:new:
Has anyone given much thought to the possible beginnings to the S that is headed our way?
I keep trying to run through scenarios running the gamut from riots to national electrical to what ever, I'm just not able to get a grip on how this could commence.
Thoughts anyone?
