Hello Dear Friends, or so the episode of Firesign Theatre would start:
Recently (a couple days before the Japan meltdown) I was looking through the medicine cabinet to discard and update the meds and etc. stored there.....to discover that our Potassium Iodide tabs had expired some five (5) years ago. EGAD!
So, a few days later I reminded SWMBO to get new ones at the drugstore(s) here in Plymouth MA....after all, that's where she got them before, when we were notified by the Town to have them to hand, since we live near Pilgrim nuke plant and another farther down the Cape (Cape Cod).

To my surprise, she came back to tell me that the head pharmacist does NOT have them in stock, and had not been able to get them for some years, repeatedly told they were "On Backorder'.
Keep in mind that every year we get a fresh, shiny new calendar from the Town of Plymouth with our Evacuation and Assembly routes, and instructions to get the tabs at the local drug stores, and to keep them on hand. ...
