I guess I'll use this first entry to introduce myself a bit. I'm relatively new to survival, but not a total nub. I've been in my fair share of scenarios but was usually found unprepared but I managed. I now carry an Altoids tin with me all the time as well as a mini first aid kit.

The contents of my tin are as follows:
3ft of electric tape covering the bottom of the tin
4 velcro straps also on the outside
4 rubberbands
a small fishing kit (wrapped in a piece of plastic wrap)
2 pieces of aluminum foil folded and taped to the inside of the lid
1 clean new razor blade stored under the foil
1 piece of paper 8x11
55G tool (made by trim- my dad calls it that- contains a nail file, small blade, and a bottle opener with a flathead tip)
1 small magnifying glass
1 very short pencil w/ more electric tape wrapped around it (just short enough to fit lengthwise in the tin)
1 sewing kit
2 paper clips
tinder (made from cottonballs and vaseline {good for chapped lips as well})
Eyeglass repair kit
