How To Skin Logs
I tried skinning a log that fell down from the weather a few weeks ago, but the log was so dry. If you skin them as soon as you cut them they will be WET then, it will be easier to peel the bark off of it using the draw blade I have mentioned. Skinning the log works great with a draw blade that has two handles for easy skinning. You just take the blade as it has one handle on each side of the blade and you work it from top to bottom at a angle so thebark comes off easier and less elbow muscle. It was my first time, and it was a cinch so im happy to say that I will be doing this more often. Watch the video, and you will understand that to skin bark off a log as you will have to have the blade angled to get better results. As this was my first time, I did not know what to expect but, I can tell you this, it wasn't what I expected.
