DIY - 1976 J-10 Flat Bed Make over Part 1 by Fictional Character on Sat Oct 02, 2010 11:44 pm
I will be making this a continuing post, this is going to show an ongoing project of putting a flat bed on my truck.
Here will be some photos and video.

Keep in mind, the material is all scrapped from different things that i have gotten so it may not be to pretty sometimes. :D

Ok i asked for peoples opinions on where to mount the box and did not get to many replies so i was not going to mount it but then i had an idea and turned it sideways and seemed to fit OK so i then mounted...

Adding a tool box to the flat bed ?

So the tool box now sticks out about 8 inches .
My questioin is should i mount it and then dove tail the back...

This is part 2 of a series of posts for making my flat bed for my 1976 J-10 Jeep
The reason it looks so high is it is 4x4 so it needs tire clearance and I hope to possibly put a little bigger tires on...

A couple of thoughts...

Is it watertight? Crossing a stream could fill your tools with water and silt.

If a tool bounces out of the drawers, is it going to wedge and jam the drawer? Can you get it out...

Some times it looks sounds better than it works. Point that box is pretty deep, and with various types and sizes of tools bashing around, might sound like a freight train coming at ya. With every thing...
