Ok i asked for peoples opinions on where to mount the box and did not get to many replies so i was not going to mount it but then i had an idea and turned it sideways and seemed to fit OK so i then mounted it sideways, got the truck running again and took for test drive yesterday.

Johnny, I think having the box set side ways is better because if you had a trailer hitched up you would have limited access to the boxes. Good work!

I also thought about the support for the gas tank impaling me if i got rear ended, so that helped in the decision
