Permanent Linkby Fictional Character on Tue Apr 13, 2010 12:39 am

    * Prescription bottles, glide on deodorant or film containers make good storage places for small items.

    * Canning rings can be use to cook eggs into little circles for English Muffin or croissant egg sandwiches.

    * In cold weather you can insulate yourself from cold air under a cot with some layers of newspaper.

    * If you need a camp grill you can use an old grill from a bbq grill, or a grill from an Oven but DO NOT use a refrigerator shelf as it will release TOXINS into what ever you are cooking

    * Pliers make good pot holders

    * You can support paper plates by using a frisbee

    * Lint from doing laundry, in your pockets, or in your belly button makes good fire tinder or fire starter

    * You can use a 5 gallon bucket and a plunger to do a small load of laundry

    * You can always use a garbage bag to make an emergency poncho by cutting a hole big enough for your head to fit through and two smaller ones for your arms.

    * You can also use a garbage bag if you split it up the seams you can make a small lean to shelter.

    * Tin foil on top of your ice in the cooler will help it last longer.

    * Use wax paraffin from candles on your saw to make it move easier when cutting.

    * Glow in the dark paint or (phosphorescent paint) can be used for many things. Like marking zippers on your tent, sleeping bag, gun bag, etc.. Or it can also mark your cooler, gun sights, etc.. Too bad you can not find any Radioluminescent paint it lasts up to 15 years with out light exposure.

    * Good kindling can be taken from things you probably throw away every day. Waxed OJ containers, milk containers, etc.. Cut them into small pieces and carry in a zip-lock baggy for kindling.

    * You can make an insect candle EASY by taking a candle make a hole near wick and fill with citronella oil then melt wax back over hole so it does not spill

    * You can remove sticky sap by using baking soda instead of soap when washing hands.

    * If you carry a flash light and you always find the batteries are dead when you want to use the dang thing, TURN the batteries BACKWARDS for storage then you should have a healthy flash light when you need it.

    * The inside of and orange peel can be smeared on legs, arms, and face to prevent mosquito's.

    * ROLL on deodorant containers - When done with deodorant, snap out ball then clean thoroughly, let dry then fill with insect repellent, put ball back on and wallah insect repellent in a roll on applicator. BE SURE TO MARK THIS AS INSECT REPELLENT.

    * Fire starters from old egg cartons can be made with saw dust, lint, cotton, or old paper. Cut each egg holder off carton and use individually, take the material break into small pieces if it is cotton or paper then by filling the one egg holder with material fill with melted wax when done.

    * To remove musty smell from canteen, put three teaspoons of baking soda into the canteen with a bit of water. Swish it around and let sit for an hour, then rinse out the canteen.

    * Bicycle Inner-tubes cut into pieces make great rubber bands

    * Old garden hose has many uses, cut a piece big enough for your axe or saw then cut a slit in it to slip over blade and then you can use bread ties or zip ties to hold it on as a sheath.
