You are certainly right Johnny - it's just that he said "I need 150 amps to run house and workshop. I need both 120 and 220 volts. Using solar, how much would it cost me to put in a system that met those needs?"

Reading tech notes from several sites and i seems that the company "First Solar" is now manufacturing thin film photovoltaic for $ .76 per watt.

I understand that the "industry" standard rule of thumb is that installation costs are about $ .80 per watt.

MOST families today can not get along on 10 KW power for any length of time - although I know several that can get by on less than 1 KW.

Just ramblin' here - I'd be interested to see what the First Solar panels retail for.

From First Solar's Q&A page:

" Does First Solar sell to distributors or wholesalers?

First Solar currently does not sell its products through distributors, resellers, or wholesalers. "

So, once again, we are stuck with a company making inexpensive panels that noone can buy.

Bullshit!

No matter how I seemed to come across, that was my point - EXACTLY!
